Since we were able to spend Christmas Day at home, I had a little bit of time to write out my goals for 2012. Instead of lumping all my goals together, I created several different categories. (Mark is quite proud that he seems to be rubbing off on me! Now I just need charts and graphs!)
One of my goals last year was to give up caffeine. I'm not sure how long I made it last January without caffeine, but it wasn't long. I gave up rather quickly. Then I tried again this past July. After 24 hours with no caffeine, I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst headache ever and started vomiting. So like any normal person, I had caffeine the next morning. Makes sense, right?
Obviously, I struggle with moving past the withdrawal symptoms.
But I know it's important for me to give up the sodas, regular and diet. I know I will feel better, but I also know I need to set the example for my kiddos. I don't want them drinking sodas because it's not good for them. So if it's not good for them, it's not good for me either.
Even though it's not quite 2012 I am already on my way to giving up the caffeine. Yesterday I drank the last Diet Coke we had in the fridge so it's going on 22 hours since I've last had caffeine. Right now I feel the beginning of a headache, but I've stocked up on aspirin and bottled water. I'm determined to kick the caffeine habit this year!
You may want to avoid talking to me in the next few days.....
